It's Been Awhile

Yeap...its been almost 3 months since I last upadated...I was busy (same old lame excuse I use every time)...or lazy if you prefer a more honest answer :p

Don't be fooled this time though, I'm not gonna be back to full time blogging this time around. Just thought I should update the few of you who are probably wondering whether I am currently dead or alive :D

I am very much alive, thank you!

But really, it's been a hectic few months in terms of feeling my way back to full time work after the mini surgery I had and learning and exploring new things and places. Ooh, btw, Guangzhou was eye opening! Wouldn't recommend it for hoildays though! Other than that, it's been pretty much a 2 way travel between KL and Skudai.

With 2 more new hotel projects (minor details might be announced soon) due for completion end of this year...I am predicting a very very busy 2nd half this year. Man...I'm gonna go for as many holiday trips during this couple of months before I get tied to my job!

I am planning one with my close buddy Chun Wei in which the trip will involve the Great Singapore Sale, a Malacca tour since he hasn't been there before and he's almost 21! like wth? and Tioman Island! I am going there to relax but Chun Wei wants to go there to show off his now toned body :P He said it's about time that his 2 packs get publicy viewed at after spending 3 long years and a big sum of cash in California Fitness! After hearing that, I felt proud of myself cos I haven't been into any fitness centre and I'm only 1 pack behind :P That's not too bad right?

Will be going to Bali with my brothers and their family end of June to get fully recharged before we go on a 5 months no leave working marathon...I am dreading yet looking forward to it, is there any term in the dictionary for that? haha nevermine!

Yeah so...just to inform you that if you don't see me updating my blog for the next 6-7 months, don't be surprised! I'm just being busy or lazy! BUT, who knows, I might just spring in a few surprise posts along the way!

If any of you were still wondering what I was busy with for the month of November & December...

(aka 'The Mirror Building' by some folks there)

This new hotel is a vast improvement in terms of class and quality from our previous hotels. I'm very proud to have been involved in it, to have seen it evolved from what it was to what it is now! The only dissapointment I have is that I was unable to attend it's Grand Opening because of the unexpected vertigo problem I had as a result of my recent minor incision surgeries.

Anyway, back to the hotel...

I've got a few pictures down here...might post more later on when I get back to JB this week.

Keep in mind this is a boutique hotel, so the design and furnishing concept is pretty much different from what you get at 3-5 star hotels.

The best news is...rates for this hotel starts from RM89 nett per night only for a Deluxe Queen / Executive Twin Room.

There is now also a Fine Dining Restaurant by day and Bar by night Bistro to go with the Hotel.

Dreadful Start To 2009

AT LAST...

...I've got the energy and mental health to type out this month's blog post!
It's been 'some' 10 days I've just experienced...Definitely rated among the worst, if not the worst 10 days of my life! I've just got to say - THANK YOU GOD - for getting me through this!

For most of you still in the dark, I've just gone through 2 minor surgeries that involved approximately 7 numb injections and 8 minimally invasive penetrations into the area around my spine to get rid of the pain in my leg because of the slipped disc problem I got mysef some one and the half years ago. Heck, I sweated profusely throughout this tormenting surgical experience. And as if that wasn't enough, In between the 2 surgeries, I had a case of inner ear imbalance aka vertigo. I couldn't stand up or even sit up during the 6 days I had it as I would get a bad headache each time I did so. Having meals and bathing was an awful nightmare.

Not Forgetting to mention, I also had four packets of sodium chloride drips split over 2 rounds. The funny and hurtful thing is that I had to be injected 3 times instead of 2 because the doctor poked the wrong spot during the first try...it hurts a lot, I hate it! Or rather, I'm afraid of needle pains...haha :P

Furthermore, I vomited once on the way home from the clinic. I was already feeling very dizzy and yet have to drive my way home. Just when i was reaching Taman Desa where I live, I stopped by the side of a busy highway, went down and vomited. It was probably the liquid medicine being too bitter for my stomach's liking. My headache got much worse after that incident but i had to drag myself back into the car and manouvre it home.

Some of the other things that happened during that period of time were like having bad appetite and it wasn't helped by the fact that I had to refrain from eating a whole lot of things. I also ended up missing my brother's latest hotel and bistro opening in Johor on the 22nd. I really wanted to go for it but my health was just way too poor for me to make the trip down. I didn't want to get in their way knowing I couldn't offer them any help but would only be a cause of concern to them. I will post photos of the hotel and bistro once I get back to JB. Trust me, I've got a good feeling it will be a new landmark in that part of the town...wait for the pictures!!

Well, "that's all" I guess(sarcastically)... Tomorrow would be reunion day for all fellow chinese out there...I wish all my chinese readers, Happy Chinese New Year! Have a safe and prosperous one guys! Oh yeah, my gratitude to all those who wished me well during my weakest moment and special thanks to Shoban who drove me to and back from the clinic when I had that awful headache.

Christmas & New Year Greetings

So...

Christmas 2008 is officially over here in Malaysia!
What did I do for Christmas?...let's see...hmm....

I was in my hotel room throughout the night of Christmas eve...
Just me and my laptop from around 8pm all the way till about 1am...

It's partly because I'm in Johor and there ain't much entertainment here except for the pubs and night clubs in the City Centre which I am not at all keen of! My brother invited me out for some 'lut lut' aka satay celup for supper but I turned him down...wasn't quite sure why I would rather spend my Christmas eve in a hotel room all by myself ... hehe! Or maybe I do :P

On Christmas Day itself....it was even more unlike Christmas...because I was working the whole day...from 10 in the morning till about 10 at night! It felt so much like a normal workday except for the fact that fewer people were working on site today... It was quite weird because of the quietness! :) but I like! haha

Owwhh...to those of you who don't know...My brothers' company aka Euro Star Hotel & Travel S/B is currently working on another Hotel project in Skudai...hence the busyness! I'll post pictures of it soon...it's gonna be a hit in Skudai I believe! Hotel will probably open around January before CNY...I'll be busy till then I guess...won't be in KL often because of this! I truly miss KL la...but have to concentrate on work for now...a lot of planning and arranging and hiring to do now! I long for a break...

Sadly...I'll be missing KL's new year's eve celebrations too...but my eldest brother will be joining us here for New Year(he's currently on holidays with his family in HK)...that should add to the atmosphere!

Well...I shall end here by wishing everyone an Amazing New Year 2009 and an Unforgettable 2008! And owhh...Happy Belated Christmas ya'll!

It's Worth The Sacrifice

It's 5 something in the early hours of Tuesday as I write this post. Coming to 6am soon...
Have been rather occupied with a major task in my hands.
It's a last minute thing that I decided to do yesterday...
It's something that is worth not sleeping for, whether I end up succeeding or not.
I need to make sure everything is in place before I leave for Johor this Wednesday.
All the planning is gonna be vital!

Die...gotta wake up early for work somemore later...
Facing so many obstacles somemore...I need a break!
